The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE: BWC) announced today that Ms. Mary Pat Salomone, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, will retire effective June 30, 2013, following 31 years of service with the Company. Ms. Salomone will continue serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nuclear Production Partners, LLC (NP2), the B&W-led joint venture competing for the U.S. Department of Energy contract to manage and operate the combined Y-12 National Security Complex and Pantex Plant.
B&W Responds to GAO Recommendation on Procurement Protest
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE: BWC) is pleased that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has sustained the protest filed by Nuclear Production Partners, LLC (NP2) in regard to the procurement decision for the combined management and operating contract at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12) and Pantex Plant (Pantex). NP2, comprised of B&W, URS, Northrop Grumman and Honeywell, believes its proposal was a very strong choice for moving closer to the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) vision of a consolidated Nuclear Security Enterprise and for continuing the tradition of excellence B&W has maintained at both Y-12 and Pantex over the past 12 years.
B&W, DOE Sign Cooperative Agreement for Small Modular Reactor Funding

B&W Awarded Environmental Equipment Contract for Iowa Power Plant

B&W Announces $510 Million in Contracts Supporting U.S. Naval Nuclear Programs

The entire amount was appropriated in the fourth quarter of 2012.
