BW Applauds Signing of CERC Consortium Work Plan to Develop Clean Coal Technologies in Cooperation with China
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) applauds today's signing of the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC) consortium work plan for advancing clean coal technologies. B&W is one of five U.S. companies involved in this CERC consortium, led by West Virginia University (WVU), which will work with Chinese partners to develop and test clean coal technologies, including carbon dioxide capture and storage.
B&W Awarded $107 Million Boiler Rebuild Contract
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Canada Ltd. (B&W Canada) has been awarded a $107 million contract from SaskPower to engineer, manufacture, deliver and construct critical components for SaskPower's Boundary Dam Unit 3 in Estevan, Saskatchewan.
B&W Awarded $2.0 Billion Naval Nuclear Reactor Components Contract
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. (B&W NOG) has been awarded a contract totaling approximately $2.0 billion, including options. The base portion of the contract, which totals $807 million, will be funded in January and March and included in backlog at the end of 2010. The options are expected to be funded in Government Fiscal Years 2012 and 2013. The contract is for the manufacture of nuclear components to support U.S. defense programs including the manufacture of naval nuclear power systems for submarines and aircraft carriers. The work will be performed over a 10-year period, beginning in January 2011.
B&W Awarded Nuclear Generating Station Uprate Contract
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Energy, Inc. (B&W NE) has been awarded a $24 million contract from Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) in Omaha, Neb., for uprate modifications at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes engineering and construction to replace critical components and associated plant modifications.

Mr. Weyers, who served as Chief Executive Officer of Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (previously WPS Resources Corp.) from 1998 until 2008, recently retired as Chairman of the Board.
B&W Announces $428 Million Department of Energy Contract
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that Babcock & Wilcox Conversion Services, LLC (BWCS) was awarded a five-year, $428 million contract by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for uranium conversion operations at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant and the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
B&W-Led Team Wins D&D Contracts in New York, Pennsylvania and Idaho

B&W to Design and Manufacture Steam Generators for TVA's Bellefonte Unit 1 Plant

(B&W Canada), an affiliate of Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Energy, Inc., has been notified of a contract award from Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to design and manufacture two steam generators for the Bellefonte Unit 1 Plant as a part of the Bellefonte completion project.
B&W Granted Contract Extension at Department of Energy's Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group, Inc. (B&W TSG) has been notified of a contract extension for waste cleanup work at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project (AMWTP) near Idaho Falls, Idaho. B&W TSG is a team member of Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC, which manages and operates AMWTP. The contract has been extended for a six-month period, through March 31, 2011, with an option for another extension through Sept. 30, 2011.
B&W Technology Selected for Use in DOE's FutureGen 2.0 CO2-Capture Project
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE: BWC) announced today that the oxy-coal combustion technology developed by its Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. subsidiary (B&W PGG) and Air Liquide Process & Construction, Inc. has been included by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in its award of a cooperative agreement to Ameren Energy Resources Company, LLC, for the $1 billion FutureGen 2.0 project - the first large-scale, integrated test of an oxy-coal-fired power plant with carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (CCS).
