B&W Technology Selected for Use in DOE's FutureGen 2.0 CO2-Capture Project

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE: BWC) announced today that the oxy-coal combustion technology developed by its Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. subsidiary (B&W PGG) and Air Liquide Process & Construction, Inc. has been included by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in its award of a cooperative agreement to Ameren Energy Resources Company, LLC, for the $1 billion FutureGen 2.0 project - the first large-scale, integrated test of an oxy-coal-fired power plant with carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (CCS).


B&W Awarded Contract Extensions at Y-12 National Security Complex and Pantex Plant

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group, Inc. (B&W TSG) received notification of contract extensions from the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) for the management and operations of the Y-12 National Security Complex and Pantex Plant. B&W has managed both facilities for approximately 10 years.


B&W Joint Venture Signs Contract for Two Large, Ultra-Efficient Coal-Fired Boilers in China

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that Babcock & Wilcox Beijing Company Ltd. (BWBC) has signed a contract to build two 1,000 megawatt (MW) ultra-supercritical coal-fired boilers for a large power plant project in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, China. BWBC is a joint venture between Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) and Beijing Jingcheng Machinery Electric Holding Company, Ltd.


B&W to Engineer and Supply Emissions Reduction System for Michigan Power Plant

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE: BWC), announced today that one of its subsidiaries, Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG), has signed a contract to design, engineer, supply and construct a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for Consumers Energy's J.H. Campbell Generating Complex Unit 2, located near West Olive, Mich.

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC), through its affiliate Babcock & Wilcox Investment Company, announced today that it has made a $37.5 million investment in USEC Inc. (NYSE: USU). This is the first phase of its previously announced definitive agreement to make a $100 million strategic investment in USEC. In connection with the investment, Michael S. Taff, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of B&W, has been elected to USEC's Board of Directors.

B&W Wins Cleanup Contract for Department of Energy Site in Ohio

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC), through its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group, Inc. (B&W TSG), announced that the Fluor-B&W Portsmouth, LLC team has been awarded the decontamination and decommissioning contract at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Ohio. The contract has an estimated value of approximately $2.1 billion over a 10-year period, which includes an initial five-year period in addition to a potential five-year extension based on performance and government requirements.

Ameren Energy Resources Company, LLC (AER) - the holding company for merchant generation for Ameren Corporation (NYSE: AEE); The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC); and Air Liquide Process & Construction, Inc. (Air Liquide), have been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) clean coal power program to negotiate the installation of the world's first full-scale oxy-coal-fired power plant that includes permanent carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (CCS).

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced that the spinoff from McDermott International, Inc. (McDermott) (NYSE: MDR) has been completed and that it begins regular way trading on the New York Stock Exchange today. On Friday, July 30, B&W became an independent, publicly owned company when B&W shares were distributed to McDermott International, Inc. stockholders.


B&W to Locate State-of-the-Art Testing Facility in Bedford County, Va.

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) announced today the decision to locate its B&W mPower™ Integrated System Test (IST) facility in Bedford County, Va., at the Center for Advanced Engineering and Research (CAER), currently being constructed at the New London Business & Technology Center. Today's announcement marks an important step forward in the development of B&W's mPower reactor, which is being designed in Central Virginia.
