B&W Welcomes U.S. Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick to Hatfield, Pa. Facility

20 August 2013

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) recently welcomed U.S. Rep. Michael Fitzpatrick, who represents the 8th Congressional District of Pennsylvania, on a tour and town hall style meeting with employees of the Hatfield, Pa. office of its Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) subsidiary.

Approximately 40 employees work at B&W PGG's Hatfield office, which is home to the Company's KVB-EnertecTM emissions monitoring products and services.

The visit on Thursday, Aug. 15, was part of a tour of local employers by Rep. Fitzpatrick.

"B&W was pleased to host Rep. Fitzpatrick and his staff at our Hatfield office," said B&W PGG President and Chief Operating Officer J. Randall Data. "This visit afforded our employees an excellent opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with their representative in Washington D.C.

It also enabled us to show Rep. Fitzpatrick first-hand how B&W plays a critical role in clean energy production for our nation," Data said.

"I believe that as a nation we could be energy independent in about a decade. We can reach that goal by building a diverse energy portfolio that includes a combination of all the resources available to us, including renewable energy like the kind that is helped to be produced by companies like B&W," said Congressman Fitzpatrick (PA-8). "I'm glad I was able to stop by B&W as I continue to meet with local businesses, and their employees, across Montgomery County during my 50 Businesses in 50 Days tour this summer. This visit and discussion will help me better represent all my constituents in Pennsylvania's 8th Congressional District."

B&W PGG's Hatfield office employs engineers, technical professionals and support staff specializing in the design and integration of Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and software development of Data Acquisition & Handling Systems (DAHS) for fossil fuel-fired power plants and industry, as well as services to support these products.
