B&W Named Environmental Technology Supplier for Luminant Power Plant Fleet

22 February 2012

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE: BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) has been selected as a preferred environmental control technology provider for several of Luminant's coal-fired power plants.

During the fourth quarter of 2011, B&W PGG signed contracts totaling approximately $65 million to design and supply emissions control equipment for four of Luminant's coal-fired power plants, including construction at two of these plants. The company also expects to announce additional environmental and construction work at Luminant facilities in the future.

"We appreciate the opportunity to be Luminant's emissions control technology provider for these important projects," B&W PGG President and Chief Operating Officer Richard L. Killion said. "Securing this work shows Luminant's confidence in B&W PGG to provide the right environmental solution for their fleet. Each plant has different needs from an emission control standpoint - all of which can be handled by our broad portfolio of environmental products and services."

B&W PGG is currently in the engineering, design and procurement stage of environmental upgrade projects at four of Luminant's coal-fired power plants in Texas. The scope of work varies at each facility, and construction activities are also currently underway.
