We have supplied the nuclear industry with more than 1,300 large, heavy components worldwide. With dedicated manufacturing operations in the U.S. and Canada, BWXT is the only heavy nuclear component manufacturer in North America. We have the skills, knowledge and infrastructure for fabricating pressure vessels, reactors, steam generators, heat exchangers, valves and other auxiliary equipment. Notably, we're the only North American company to continuously manufacture nuclear steam generators for the industry since the 1950’s.

This expertise paved the way for our latest commercial development, the BWXT mPower™ reactor, a scalable, modular system. Our innovative design presents a practical option to the marketplace.

Nuclear Solutions for Government, University and Research Customers

Through our subsidiary, BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. (BWXT NOG), we offer a complete range of nuclear components and services for our government customers, primarily including the manufacture of nuclear reactor components for U.S. Naval submarines and aircraft carriers. Fuel for the Naval reactors is provided by BWXT NOG subsidiary Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc.

BWXT has proudly manufactured naval nuclear components and reactors since the 1950s, when it designed and fabricated components for the USS Nautilus, the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine. To date, the U.S. government has safely steamed more than 140 million miles using components manufactured by BWXT’s facilities – a track record that is highlighted by our commitment to safety, quality and integrity.

In addition to its work for the U.S. Navy, we also provide nuclear and non-nuclear research and development and specialty components for other high-precision and mission-critical government, commercial and research  application.
