On Monday, November 28, 2022, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the fire alarm system was activated at BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada’s Peterborough plant, building 21. The alarm was triggered by sprinkler system maintenance being conducted at the time. There was no fire.
There was no health or safety risk posed to the public, employees, or the environment.
