BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada (BWXT NEC), a subsidiary of BWXT Canada, has more than 60 years of extensive experience in the supply of nuclear fuel and fuel channel components, services, equipment and parts for the Canadian Deuterium Uranium (CANDU) nuclear power industry.
Our work has included the design and supply of highly reliable nuclear equipment that is used to fuel, inspect and refurbish reactors. Throughout our six decades in this field, we’ve established a consistent track record of innovation.
We employ over 500 skilled workers across three locations in Ontario: Peterborough, Toronto and Arnprior.
We’re proud to be part of these communities, and we’re also proud of our long safety record. Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our employees, neighbours and the environment.
As the demand for electricity increases throughout the world, CANDU nuclear reactor operators can rely on the fuel manufactured by BWXT. Our superior manufacturing practices ensure the highest levels of quality and reliability.
BWXT NEC has supplied nuclear fuel bundles to CANDU stations since the early 1950s. We continue to actively participate in the supply and development of CANDU fuel and have supplied over a million fuel bundles for Ontario’s reactors.
Utilizing state-of-the-art automated manufacturing and inspection technologies, BWXT NEC delivers the superior product quality, traceability and responsiveness that is required by our nuclear customers.
