BWXT capitalizes on the capabilities of its unique manufacturing facilities to meet the growing energy demands through nuclear power. BWXT operates commercial nuclear manufacturing facilities in Mount Vernon, Indiana, and Cambridge, Ontario. Both facilities are N-Stamp certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Additionally, along with our manufacturing facility in Barberton, Ohio, the Mount Vernon facility is one of only a few domestic manufacturers of large, heavy-pressure vessels and has shipped more than 1,100 components for the U.S. government.
At 398,000 square feet, our Cambridge, Ontario production facility is the largest commercial nuclear equipment manufacturing facility in North America and contains North America’s largest Clean Room for nuclear component assembly. The clean room is used for assembling sensitive components which have stringent contaminant controls to ensure safety and long life.
The unique requirements for nuclear components call for specialized manufacturing methods, equipment and facilities. BWXT maintains its facilities to comply with the rigorous equipment specifications of customers and regulatory authorities. We adhere to the most stringent quality assurance requirements in the industry.
Furthermore, our diversified manufacturing services provide custom engineering and manufacturing support for complex equipment requiring any combination of large weldments, heat treatment, and machining, utilizing a wide variety of materials, all of which meet stringent quality standards.
