Commercial Nuclear Components

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) capitalizes on the capabilities of its unique manufacturing facilities to meet the world’s growing energy demands through nuclear power. BWXT operates commercial nuclear manufacturing facilities in Mount Vernon, Indiana, and Cambridge, Ontario. The Cambridge facility is N-Stamp-certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Along with our manufacturing facility in Barberton, Ohio, the Mount Vernon facility is one of only a few domestic manufacturers of large, heavy-pressure vessels - it has shipped more than 1,100 components for the U.S. government.

Our Cambridge production facility is the only large, commercial nuclear equipment manufacturing facility in North America and contains North America’s largest clean room for nuclear component assembly. That clean room is used for assembling sensitive components, which have stringent contaminant controls, to ensure high quality product and long operating life.

The unique requirements of nuclear components call for specialized manufacturing methods, equipment and facilities. BWXT maintains its facilities to comply with the rigorous equipment specifications of customers and regulatory authorities. We adhere to the rigorous quality assurance requirements in the industry.

Our diversified manufacturing services provide custom engineering and manufacturing support for complex equipment requiring any combination of large weldments, heat treatment and machining. We utilize a wide variety of materials, all of which meet strict quality standards.
