The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) held a public meeting on May 27-28 in Peterborough (with a webcast), where BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada (BWXT) provided a mid-term update on licensed activities at the Toronto and Peterborough facilities.

BWXT holds two separate Class IB licenses, both of which expire on December 31, 2030. The mid-term update covered the first five years of the 10-year licensing period for both facilities. BWXT and CNSC both presented updates during this meeting.

• January 23, 2026: Deadline to apply for Participant Funding
• After February 25, 2026: Submissions from CNSC and BWXT available
• April 17, 2026: Intervention deadline
• May 27-28: Public meeting
