Tennessee has a long tradition of shaping America’s future, from the frontier spirit that built its earliest communities to the pioneering scientific breakthroughs of the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge. That legacy of innovation, craftsmanship and national service continues today, and it’s a major reason we’re proud to call Tennessee home.
Across Erwin, Jonesborough and Oak Ridge, BWXT’s work builds on this history. East Tennessee has always been a place where precision manufacturing, advanced materials and national security missions thrive side by side with scenic beauty, close knit communities and deep respect for the land. Our operations reflect those same values. We emphasize safety, environmental stewardship and transparency because they’re part of what it means to be a responsible neighbor in the region.
Whether through good jobs, community engagement or our commitment to responsible operations, we’re proud to strengthen and continue the legacy that Tennesseans have built for generations.
We invite you to explore these pages and learn more about our work in Tennessee.
Nestled between the mountains and rooted in generations of hard work, Erwin has long taken pride in doing things the right way, with care, precision and a commitment to neighbors. That spirit is what makes Erwin unique, and it’s a big part of why we are proud to have been part of the community for decades.
Oak Ridge has been a center of American innovation for more than eight decades, a place where world changing science, advanced engineering and national service have shaped the community’s identity since the Manhattan Project. It’s history and expertise make it a uniquely powerful place to do our work.
