(LYNCHBURG, Va. – January 9, 2020) – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BWXT) announced today that Richard W. (Rick) Loving has been named senior vice president and chief administrative officer (CAO).

“Rick has been highly effective in numerous roles at BWXT for many years, including senior vice president for Human Resources most recently,” said Rex Geveden, BWXT’s president and chief executive officer. “Elevating his title to chief administrative officer acknowledges the full breadth of his responsibilities in human resources, communications, security, and environmental health & safety.”

Loving has 40 years of experience with manufacturing, energy and government operations on both domestic and international fronts. After joining security operations of the Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) in 1979, he held various leadership positions during his career with B&W and BWXT companies until joining McDermott International, Inc. (McDermott), where he served as senior director, International Human Resources. During Rick’s tenure at McDermott, he also served as senior director, Human Resources for the Middle East, India and Caspian regions, responsible for all human resources activities there, and as global director, Human Resources Business Services. He returned to BWXT as senior vice president, Human Resources in July 2016.

Loving holds a Master of Arts in personnel management and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Lynchburg.
