Camplin Named BWXT Nuclear Services Group President

16 November 2017

(LYNCHBURG, Va. – November 16, 2017) – BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BWXT) announced today that Kenneth (Ken) R. Camplin has been named President of the company’s Nuclear Services Group (NSG).

In this role, Camplin will lead the commercial nuclear and government technical services segments of the company. He will also continue to oversee BWXT’s business development operations and serve on the boards of directors/governors for a number of BWXT joint ventures.

“Ken has been NSG’s acting President since December 2016, concurrent with his duties as Chief Business Development Officer,” said Rex D. Geveden, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Under his leadership, NSG has performed exceptionally well in all areas, including winning several environmental management contract awards and extensions, developing a new business line in nuclear thermal propulsion, and improving technical services operations across the board.  Ken also knows these businesses very well, having been involved in various business development and operational capacities throughout his career. He is perfectly suited for this challenging new role.”

In earlier positions with the company, Camplin progressively served in engineering and management roles within the nuclear manufacturing enterprise supporting various U.S. Department of Energy and national security missions. He holds several U.S. and international patents in the areas of automation and non-destructive testing and a prestigious Research & Development 100 Award.

Camplin earned a Master of Science in mechanical & aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia, a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering and materials science from the University of Notre Dame. He is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
