BWXT to Deliver Inspection Delivery System to Bruce Power to Support Low Cost Power

BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (BWXT NEC) will ship the Bruce Reactor Inspection Maintenance System – the second of its kind – to Bruce Power on February 24, 2017. Known as BRIMS II, this highly engineered reactor inspection delivery tool system will meet its scheduled delivery date.

(B&W NOG) manufacturing facility in Euclid, Ohio, has received N-Stamp accreditation from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The certification is considered the industry standard for quality assurance of materials, design, construction, operation, inspection and continuing maintenance of nuclear facilities. B&W's Mt. Vernon, Ind.; Barberton, Ohio; Lancaster, Ohio; and Cambridge, Ontario, Canada; facilities also hold N-Stamp certifications.

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Energy, Inc. (B&W NE) has been awarded a $24 million contract from Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) in Omaha, Neb., for uprate modifications at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes engineering and construction to replace critical components and associated plant modifications.

This is the first phase of its previously announced definitive agreement to make a $100 million strategic investment in USEC. In connection with the investment, Michael S. Taff, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of B&W, has been elected to USEC's Board of Directors.
