The Babcock Wilcox Company Names Anne R. Pramaggiore to Board of Directors

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that it has named Anne R. Pramaggiore to its Board of Directors. Pramaggiore is President and Chief Operating Officer of ComEd, a unit of Exelon Corporation that delivers electricity to 3.8 million customers across northern Illinois.


BW Applauds Signing of CERC Consortium Work Plan to Develop Clean Coal Technologies in Cooperation with China

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) applauds today's signing of the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC) consortium work plan for advancing clean coal technologies. B&W is one of five U.S. companies involved in this CERC consortium, led by West Virginia University (WVU), which will work with Chinese partners to develop and test clean coal technologies, including carbon dioxide capture and storage.


B&W Awarded $107 Million Boiler Rebuild Contract

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Canada Ltd. (B&W Canada) has been awarded a $107 million contract from SaskPower to engineer, manufacture, deliver and construct critical components for SaskPower's Boundary Dam Unit 3 in Estevan, Saskatchewan.


B&W Awarded $2.0 Billion Naval Nuclear Reactor Components Contract

The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) (NYSE:BWC) announced today that its subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. (B&W NOG) has been awarded a contract totaling approximately $2.0 billion, including options. The base portion of the contract, which totals $807 million, will be funded in January and March and included in backlog at the end of 2010. The options are expected to be funded in Government Fiscal Years 2012 and 2013. The contract is for the manufacture of nuclear components to support U.S. defense programs including the manufacture of naval nuclear power systems for submarines and aircraft carriers. The work will be performed over a 10-year period, beginning in January 2011.
